We Skillbridge!

Before embarking on the Skillbridge Journey, we identify gaps and opportunities by defining and analyzing performance needs. The output is a Skillbridge Needs Analysis, a complete report highlighting a clear way forward by identifying and prioritizing the most impactful actions to drive the project’s success. Projects often skip the needs analysis, but for Skillbridge, it is the key that allows us to define the client’s starting point and desired state. From there, we can confidently move forward onto the Skillbridge.

Measurement & evaluation (M&E)

Measurement and Evaluation

Measurement & evaluation (M&E) begins with a baseline, focused on using data from key measurements. Effectively generating and using data is critical because we want to make a measurable social impact, particularly on the SDGs and alleviating poverty. M&E experts ask questions and gather data to determine change and improvement.

We develop, enhance, or retrofit your measurement and evaluation strategy to measure high impact.

  • If M&E is already in place for the project, we seek to understand the measurements, impact drivers, and stakeholders to best align with the goal.
  • If the project's M&E requires enhancement, we employ our problem-solving and implementation model to identify root causes, assess or establish the baseline, and enhance the strategy.
  • If an M&E strategy is needed, we will launch our problem-solving and implementation model to identify the best measures to indicate change and drive results.

Strategic Action Planning

We develop and implement strategic action planning to drive measurable results from assessment through training and coaching to reassessment. Strategic action planning details the actions, responsible parties, planned dates, start and end dates, and progress.

We believe that training without commitment to action and application is fruitless. When used in conjunction with coaching, accountability for action is strong.

  • No-tech: For low-tech environments, such as in FCS or developing countries where literacy may be low and electricity and internet access are unreliable, we develop paper-based action planning templates in which participants capture desired actions in pictures or words.
  • Low-tech: Where possible, especially with eLearning, we use options like Excel templates to capture strategic action planning and updates, encouraging sharing the file electronically with the coach.
  • High-tech: We create app and cloud platform-based strategic action planning for greater project management and dashboarding insights. We can use these to track what-if scoring based on actions and confirm the action before reassessment. We use Smartsheet and other platforms to encourage close monitoring and action prioritization.

Coaching

We develop customized coaching programs for projects, teams, and organizations. We train your coaches to drive continuous improvement and achieve measurable results.

We see coaching as the key to ensuring the transfer of learning to full application, growth of the individual, and measurable social impact on the organization or community.

  • Intense, what-if driven: If the coaching timeline is short and the stakes require quick improvement, we design a high-accountability program to drive results with constant visibility into score improvement.
  • Longer engagement, what-if driven: If the coaching timeline is longer but the stakes are high for improving, we design a balanced program based on coach availability and coachee time-to-implement to drive results with constant visibility into score improvement.
  • Lite touch: To fit a lower budget, dispersed coachee population, or more independent coachee group, we design a hybrid coaching and learning model that empowers the coachee to be self-accountable.
  • Group-based: To accommodate a lower budget, non-local coaching program with concentrated coachees, we design a group-based model in which coachees have individual time and continually learn from and stay accountable to their local peers.
  • Blended: In the blended format, learners participate in training through a combination of training means (for example, taking three eLearnings and joining a culminating webinar).
  • Personal development: For some projects, coaching is primarily aimed at personal development. In this case, we design a program that equips coaches with a coaching model to drive personal growth.

  • Low-literacy, in-person: We design facilitator-led training with discussion-based session plans, including posters made for application through activity.
  • Asynchronous online: In this format, eLearning learners can take learning at their own pace, typically on an LMS. Articulate Rise and Storyline are just a few of the tools we use.
  • Synchronous online: This typically consists of webinar-based learning with a digital classroom. We design facilitator-led training with scripted PowerPoints created for active learning.
  • Blended: In the blended format, learners participate in training through a combination of training means (for example, taking three eLearnings and joining a culminating webinar).
  • Job aids and micro-learning: These just-in-time training assets help learners at their point of need. Examples include videos, animations, quick sheets, manuals, and posters.

Assessment Tools

We develop or enhance the assessment for projects, teams, organizations, or beneficiaries to gather and use meaningful baselines throughout capacity building to drive measurable results. We develop low-tech and cloud platform-based assessments.

  • No-tech: For environments, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected situations (FCS) and developing countries where literacy may be low or electricity and internet access are unreliable, we develop discussion-, paper-, or poster-based assessments.
  • Low-tech: We develop or enhance Excel-based assessments and an aggregating analysis spreadsheet for assessment results.
  • High-tech: We create app and cloud platform-based assessments in our partner assessment builder or your preferred platform (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and so on). We partner with Agolix to build assessments in a secure online environment with custom reporting and CSV exporting.
