Training
We develop and deliver tailored training solutions (for eLearning, blended, and in-person training) to train the trainers and participants using interactive approaches for strong learner application.
We are topic- and sector-agnostic and partner with our clients to develop and deliver the training they need to ensure measurable social impact and alleviate poverty through skill building.
Our Approaches to This Service
We are often asked what topics and sectors we develop and deliver training. The answer is: anything! Our clients, internal staff, and consultants are the subject matter experts, and our team members are the training experts. Our job is to simplify what is complex and engage the learner, enabling application that leads to transformation and measurable results. Unlike some training firms, we do not sell our own training products. Everything we develop is custom-built for the project. We develop and deliver training (or train the trainer) in the formats that best meet the needs of the learners and the project.
We develop and deliver training (or train the trainer) in the formats that best meet the needs of the learners and the project.
In-person
We design facilitator-led training with scripted PowerPoints or session plans and participant guides designed for active learning.
Low-literacy, in-person
We design facilitator-led training with discussion-based session plans, including posters made for application through activity.
Asynchronous online
In this format, eLearning learners can take learning at their own pace, typically on an LMS. Articulate Rise and Storyline are just a few of the tools we use.
Synchronous online
This typically consists of webinar-based learning with a digital classroom. We design facilitator-led training with scripted PowerPoints created for active learning.
Blended
In the blended format, learners participate in training through a combination of training means (for example, taking three eLearnings and joining a culminating webinar).
Job aids and micro-learning
These just-in-time training assets help learners at their point of need. Examples include videos, animations, quick sheets, manuals, and posters.

In the Skillbridge Journey
- Training is often the focal point of capacity building. In reality, it is supported by the rest of the Skillbridge Journey. The guiding principles help us develop and deliver for impact in the context, and the methodologies of training and quality hold up the bridge.
- Our training methodology is specifically designed for execution in developing and underserved contexts with standardization for sustainability, gender inclusivity, scalability, and impact.
- The assessment provides awareness and informs the training content and approach.
- Weaving the strategic action plan into the training provides a bridge to coaching.
- Measurement & evaluation track the effectiveness of training and other services in assessing social impact.
Examples of This Service
Almost all our projects have a training component or are the next step of a training-related project. Here are a few examples.
- Pathways: We developed posters and discussion-based training with high gender sensitivity for female farmers to increase their financial literacy.
- Bangladesh Female Farmer Literacy: Leveraging our partnership with Agolix, we revised the questions and approach to the assessment and created an online assessment, custom reporting, and a quality action plan on Smartsheet to track progress on actions and measure healthcare outcomes.
- Global Housing: We developed 84 learning experiences (blended eLearning, homework, and webinars) to train assessors/coaches to work with housing developers on investment readiness, business acumen, and sustainable housing design. Moreover, we led the webinars and training process and translated the course into French.
